Typographic experimentation formed the basis of Bill Kaminski’s graduate studies. Analog Alphabets, a second-semester project, explored letterforms through reflection, refraction and other phenomena that capture the interplay of light and form. The project was an investigation into process and randomness, one that relied on a controlled studio environment (lighting and DIY camera rigs) to capture fleeting, blink-and-you-miss-them moments. A veteran design educator at MIAD, this area of inquiry fed directly into Bills thesis and his work-to-date.
