VCFA MFA in Graphic Design Co-chair and faculty member Ian Lynam will be giving a lecture at The Japan Foundation in Toronto on October 4th. The lecture is titled “Japanese Graphic Design History Backwards”.

Lecture description:
Moving from the contemporary moment to the 1960s, Ian Lynam examines Japanese graphic design history by looking at the work of contemporary Japanese graphic designers, their influences, and how each fits into a greater continuum. Included are perspectives on the design of the upcoming Tokyo Olympics, speculative labor, and authenticity.
