A survey of recent work by VCFA MFA in Graphic Design candidate Chad Miller. Over the past few years, Chad has been steadily building a body of form-rich yet subtle work that explores many of the more insidious aspects of contemporary culture: redaction, digital malfeasance, and the transition from truthiness to post-truth.
Slight Context
An experiment in automation and documentation. Over the course of a week, picture messages and their accompanying texts were captured and placed in a predetermined grid on an A1 poster. A script written to process the images failed resulting in distorted and abstract compositions. The unexpected output was kept intact due to the themes explored in the project.

Fortuitous Forms
A dimensional interpretation of the ephemeral reactions collected in previous projects. The compositions were reduced to their simplest forms before being rendered in 3D, giving them a more intentional and palpable expression and allowing another chance at interpretation. A limited-run companion document was produced to document the transformation.
