LIVE LIVE LIVE! Public lectures! Streaming lectures!

April 4, 2016

We are very excited to announce lectures that are open to the public at our residency next week, as well as lectures that can be streamed directly to your computer if you are unable to attend.

On Tuesday April 12, 6:00PM EST, you are invited to attend or stream our amazing guest Kenneth FitzGerald’s lecture “Singing the Surface”. Within, Kenneth examines critical reading and writing through graphic design criticism using music as a metaphor. Check out the lecture here.

On Wednesday April 13 at 6:15PM EST, VCFA Chair Ian Lynam will be giving a public lecture called “There’s Chocolate in my Peanut Butter” about design cults, feral cats, process demystified, class warfare, and the destabilization of the Modern narrative through time travel.

Also on Wednesday April 13 at 7:00PM EST, VCFA faculty member and former Chair Silas Munro will be giving a talk called “Pixel in Picture in Pixel™” which will be streaming here. Silas’ practice in the fictive nature of graphic design, his research in the performative nature of typography, and his interest in the exploded state of cinema today make for an unusual tour into the infinity mirror of films made for screens and screens made for film. affiliate tracking url | Nike
