Put Yourself Back in Beta

December 10, 2015

VCFA faculty Ian Lynam and Dave Peacock recently teamed up to produce Put Yourself Back in Beta, a set of promotional posters for the VCFA MFA Graphic Design program.

With the AIGA national convention quickly approaching, VCFA needed some fresh promotional material for their booth. Knowing they had a limited budget to work with, Ian and Dave decided to design a set of posters at A3 size and produce them through inexpensive Risograph printing. They collaborated on the layout and typography, incorporating their own typefaces and photography. To feature student work as part of the design, they selected images from recent student projects to use as integrated graphic elements. They chose work that was experimental in nature and reflected the VCFA MFA Program’s collaborative and student-centered approach.

With Ian based in Tokyo and Dave based in Seattle, the collaboration was international in scope. To facilitate a smooth project they connected regularly through email and Skype, and shared files back and forth until we were both happy with the results. The variety of student work combined with the multiple color combinations possible through Risograph printing made for an eye-catching set of six posters. At the conference, the posters disappeared quickly, with many booth visitors commenting that they were the most interesting printed pieces among all of the exhibitors.

Ian and Dave would like to thank all of the students who contributed work. If you are a prospective student and would like your own set of posters, get in touch! Sports brands | Nike Air Max 270 – Deine Größe bis zu 70% günstiger
